We have assembled a group of extremely successful serious anglers to help us in our quest to develope the highest quality, most effective baits around. This group of anglers is special because they are honest, humble and have solid reputations and integrity. We are proud to have them on our staff.
Craig "Earthworm" DeFronzogrew up in Hauppauge NY on Long Island. Craig cut his teeth fishing Floridas famed big bass waters such as West Toho, Lake George, St. Johns River, Suwanee River , Lake Osbourne, the Everglades, The Big O, Kissimmee and others. In the early nineties Craig took a trip to the Ocala National forest and caught a 13.9lb bass on 6lb test. This was the turning point in his young angling career as he switched over to the realm of finesse fishing.
Craig began to adopt all of the "New" West Coast methods and re applied them to his fishing here in NY. Not only did he discover he could get more bites when scaling down his tackle, he saw that he was catching far more large fish as well. He has documented through the NYDEC Diary program an outlandish number of bass over 5lbs all on light tackle. To date he has landed close to 30 bass over 7lbs on LI including 3 bonafide nine pounders. When he is not chasing largemouth bass, he can be found out in Montauk looking for big stripers.
Nicknamed "The Surgeon" by several of his friends and club mates, for his meticulous eye for detail and scientific approaches, Craig has written articles that appear regularly on River Smallies.com, The Michigan Fishfinder, Bronzeback.com, Bassininny.com, Bass Resource.com, Kevins Bass site, Bass Angler's Online,Ultimate Bass Fishing and several for the Fisherman magazine and NYDEC Sweetwater Angler. Craig has given several presentations on light tackle jig and tube fishing for the South Jersey Bass Busters, Suffolk County Bassmasters,NY Boat Show and New York Bass University and has spoken in seminars with Larry Nixon and Jimmy Houston. He is known for his technical approach to fishing and finding patterns. Each fishing season Craig hosts a charity bass tournament dedicated in the memory of is childhood friend Tom Aylward who was killed in an auto wreck in North Carolina in 2000. The event draws some big name sponsors and 100% of the fees and donations generated make their way to the Aylward family.

Charlie "Ray Charles" Clifford is a member of the MD Bass Federation. His local club is the Hub City Bassmasters, in Boonsboro, MD. Charlie won several tournaments in 2003, claiming the Mr. BASS honor for his club. Hub City Bassmasters went on to win Top Club at the MD Regional Qualifying Tournament in 2003. Charlie found great success in money tournaments in 2003, with his ability to stalk bass on light tackle. Charlie is an avid fisherman on the Susquehanna and Potomac rivers, where he competes in tournaments throughout the year. Charlie is an avid jig and tube fisherman, who employs these two lures as his primary baits in his pursuit of largemouth and smallmouth bass, on light tackle
"I fish it all. There are no baits that I don't mind throwing, especially if the fish are eating it. I usually pattern fish with a hardbait. I like to fish moderately fast, that is, unless the fish are extremely lethargic. Normally, there are at 7 or 8 rods lined out on the deck of my boat. I am never stubborn enough to say, I'm fishing only ONE bait. I try to be prepared for any pattern. I love crankbaits and they are usually on a couple glass rods. I also rely heavily on a spinnerbait when the conditions allow. However, I can say without reservation that I fish the following three baits most of the time. A jig, a tube, and a wacky or "Mojo" rigged plastic worm. They are my primary baits."

Rob Fisher
Rob Fisher has quietly become one of the top fisherman in the East Suffolk Bass Angler's. He is a two time Team Angler of the Year award recipient and was runner up for the 2002 ESBA Overall Angler of the Year title. He has amassed 7 first place victories in the past two season's along with the coveted ESBA Classic Crown in 2002. His style is a blend of subtle finesse mixed with sheer terror and it works. He is Craig's right hand man and together they have captured every concievable award their club offers. Rob is known for his mix of light hearted humor and deadpan psychotic seriousness. He is a very versatile angler who can most often eke out a limit even in the most difficult conditions. Rob has been a problem solver for his club and is very analitical in his approach to fishing.

Gary Menchen- Gary is the type of guy you always hear the bait rats at the tackle shops talking about. He is "The Guy" that is catching all of those big fish and winning tournaments. Gary is currently the president of the Watershed Bass Masters. He has been bass fishing over 40 years and Tounament fishing over 30 years. Gary considers himself to be a power fisherman, but experience has taught him that downsizing lures and a slower presentation always seems to be necessary, especially in tournaments. Gary is a guy who likes to throw jigs. He is perfect for our staff.
Gary is very visible on the tournament trail, he fishes about 35 tournaments a year, practices for most of them and fun fishes a lot. A few years back we set up the Watershed 6 man State team with a bunch of baits. He lives closely to both the Hudson and Copake lake where he puts in about 130 fishing days each season. We consider Gary to be the Anchor of our staff. He is well known and well respected in the Metropolitan bass fishing scene.

Gary Kanwisher-Gary got started fishing for bass in NJ. It was at one of these local ponds, he caught his first big bass. It was a 7lb. 6oz. largemouth. Gary caught him wade fishing with a hula popper. At Oklahoma State University, he met others who had the same passion for fishing. With only fresh water nearby, he started bass fishing more and more. With three lakes within 10 miles of his campus, Gary would fish every afternoon. It was in Oklahoma where he was introduced to tournament fishing. There were plenty of open buddy tournaments to enter. After one tournament, another angler showed him how to flip and pitch. Gary was amazed that all these big fish were so shallow and tight to the cover. He practiced flipping and pitching, and even won a few buddy tournaments in the process. Before leaving Oklahoma, he managed to catch three largemouth over 10lbs. Gary pitched for the Milwaukee Brewers for a few years.

Tom Kail
Tom is a special friend to me. He is responsible for my getting into hand pouring my own baits. He has hung with me on the phone into the wee hours of the morning discussing tips and ideas to make my pouring
go smoothly. Tom had made several molds for me including the Mean Streak and the Muscle Craw. I consider Tom a mentor and he is solely responsible for helping me start my hand pouring operation. Tom's generosity with his knowledge and his friendly demeanor over all made him a shoe-in for a field staff position. There are few serious anglers with his credentials who are as open and giving with their information and tournament advice as Tom.
Tom Kail is an accomplished angler. He has done very well in regional and club events in his upstate NY area. The following are some of the highlights to his 2000-2001 season: 2nd place finish, Lake Champlain N.E.T. BASS, 1st Place Helen Bott Memorial Saratoga lake, 100+ boat field, 4 Dash for cash wins, 3rd place ABA District 7 on Saratoga, 25 week night wins in both single and partner competition in which he maintained a top five all season. Tom has also won 10 lunker awards and along with his girlfriend, set a 3 fish lake record on Saratoga with 14.78lbs. in 2001. Toms largest bass was a 7.74lb monster. His largest 6 fish creel was a 24.24 and a 23.89 in 2001. He has been a guest on several radio shows and had TV coverage for his victory in the Helen Bott Memorial TX. Tom is currently sponsored by TTi-Xpoint. He has qualified for all of the Tournament Of Champion events in the last 6 years.

I am 17 years old from Long Island New York. I started fishing at a local lake catching bass, trout, and panfish progressing to fishing tournaments. I first joined ABC, the American Bassfishing Club, and fished in the Jr. Division. After getting acclimated and experiencing tournament fishing, I joined Long Island Bassmasters once I met the age requirement. Here, I fish the day tournaments along with the Night Tournaments and Winter Series. I fished with many different people, learned a lot, and I am still learning. My tournament fishing is done mainly in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. I am a dedicated "junior" angler and fish every moment I can whether it's local or on vacation. Some locations fished include Virginia, San Juan Islands, Lake Okeechobee, a Canada fishing lodge, upstate NY, and many places in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine. I am always trying new things and experimenting. On the water, you'll probably see me throwing my favorite various soft plastics, jigs, and the occasional spinnerbait. Micro Munch Tackle's baits have made some good trips even better. I'm a big fan of the Hailey's Killer Komet.

Gary purchased a bass boat in 1993. He fished every weekend for the next two years, learning the local lakes to prepare for tournament fishing. Gary joined United Bass Anglers in 1995 and fished their tournament trail along with a few open tournaments. In 1996, he was elected tournament director for United Bass Anglers, a position he continues to hold. Since 1996, he has finished first or second in overall weight with numerous individual tournament wins. The last three out of four years, Gary has finished first in his club. He has fished the NJ Federation tournament trail the last six years. He has finished in the top 10 twice and two other times in the top twenty.
His plans for the upcoming season are to fish the NJ Federation tournament trail, United Bass Anglers tournament trail, and Alliance tournament trail in addition to some open tournaments. He can be reached through www.UnitedBassAnglers.com or
Scott Rauber is my Florida Staffer. He is a laid back kind of guy who fishes Lake Tarpon. He has a knack for pulling fish out of some highly industrial looking places. Check out the 6+ in this photo. Scott is a business man and he knows how things are supposed to run. He owns his own advertising and promotional prodcuts company and he provides MMT not only with fishing advice, promotion and product review but also business advice on how to keep things fresh. He is an asset to the compnay and will become a huge part in the future. Scott does a little writing on the side and has published a book entitled: How to Get Sponsored, Fish For Free.
Scott fishes a few tournaments from time to time but is more at home fishing at his own pace recreationally.
Eric Heil grew up in a suburb of Pittsburgh PA. In 1995, Eric moved to Franklin PA after accepting a full time position with the City of Franklin Police Department. A life long passion of has been the outdoors, and moving to a rural area from a suburban area was a life long dream. Eric was fortunate to have parents who were involved in hunting and fishing and outdoor activities were a way of life. Early on, trout and walleye fishing were species that were pursued by the family. Quite frankly the family never fished for bass, but upon moving to Franklin PA, the beautiful and scenic Allegheny River called out. Eric began fishing for bass by wading the Allegheny River, and on another famous stream, French Creek. The smallmouth bass were too much to handle and after seeing an advertisement for a local tournament held on the Allegheny, Eric purchased a jet boat and participated in his first tournament finishing in 6th place.
Wanting to become more involved in tournament fishing, Eric joined a PA BASS Federation affiliated club, the Bassmasters of Mercer County. Quickly, a strong love of bass fishing took hold and Eric became extremely active in the club and tournament fishing. Thankfully, members of the club were very open to teaching the ways of the largemouth and smallmouth bass and my first tournament win came in only the second tournament fished. In recent years, Eric joined a second club, the Bassmasters of Crawford County and still currently competes in both clubs. Also, Eric was elected President of the Mercer County club, and Vice Chairman of PA BASS Federation’s district VI.
Currently Eric fishes on all the bodies of water around Northwest PA including Lake Erie, Presque Isle Bay, Kinzua Reservoir, Shenango Reservoir, Lake Wilhelm, Pymatuning Reservoir, Chautauqua Lake, Allegheny River. Also, Eric has been the event organizer of the Allegheny Bass Classic held in Franklin PA, as well as very active in youth and conservation events held around NW PA. Children are the future of this sport and a strong commitment to them will always be a priority.
Professionally, Eric has been a Police Officer since 1995 where a strong ability to communicate with others was developed. Since 2003, Eric has held the position of Patrolman OIC which is commonly called Sergeant with other departments. Current duties include shift supervisor, D.A.R.E. instructor, member of the PA Attorney Generals Northwest Drug Task Force. Eric loves his job and feels fortunate to be able to make a difference in a community.
Eric’s future goals are to fish at a higher level. In the 9 years until retirement from law enforcement, Eric plans on continuing to improve his skills and knowledge of bass fishing and also continue to compete in local clubs and tournament circuits. Eric has the ability to promote products and speak comfortably in public or before large audiences. One thing Eric feels strongly about is only promoting a sponsor because I use and believe in their products and service. Eric will be an ambassador for his sponsors, not only at the ramp and tournaments I fish, but also at any time needed for promotions or shows. Eric always strives to promote sponsors in a professional, passionate, and courteous way. Eric wears the sponsors colors proudly and will do whatever it takes to educate potential customers about the sponsors products and or services.
Experience and affiliations
In 1992 Eric earned a B.S. in Sport Management from Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock PA. Eric has worked as a manager in numerous health clubs and held a position with Dicks Sporting Goods as a customer service and sales representative. From 2002-2004 Eric held a staff position with Shallow River baits in Franklin PA. Eric is a member of B.A.S.S. and FLW. Eric also frequents numerous fishing related forums including fisherie.com, bassmaster.com, and the Ultimate Bass Fishing Resource Guide. Eric has also participated in on the water photo shoots with Darl Black. Darl’s articles frequently appear in Bassmaster magazine, Bass Times, In Fisherman magazine, FLW outdoors magazine. Eric also writes fishing reports for Darl’s website www.smallmouthquest.com.

Conley & Kelly Staley
Conley has been fishing and hunting for as long as he can remember. As a young boy he started fishing farm ponds for catfish and bluegill. Then one day he took a Hula Popper out of his Dads Tackle box and caught a two pound largemouth. From then on he was hooked and hasn’t stopped yet.
Kelly grew up on a farm and remembers fishing with her granddad on their farm ponds for catfish and crappie. She has many fond memories of lazy summer days spent on the bank listening to Pawpaw tell stories.
When Conley and Kelly married he knew it was a match made in Heaven. On their first anniversary Kelly came home dragging a bass boat that she had bought for them to fish together. With the purchase of the boat they started fishing in Couples Tournaments. The boat has been upgraded and the passion still remains between the two of them for each other and the outdoors.
Kelly is a Crank bait nut but loves to throw a buzz bait and an occasional jig. She mainly sticks to the crank bait. It paid off big time in 2004 when she won the big bass award fishing a club tournament on Lake Pat Cleburne with a 6.47lb largemouth.
Conley in a more versatile angler throwing what ever it takes to catch fish. He is more of a die hard worm and jig fisherman but will throw crank baits and spinner baits when it is called for, especially if Kelly is catching them on the crank bait. He still loves his top water lures too.
Every year their standing in the C.A.S.T. (Couples Association of Sport Tournaments) has improved. In 2005 they finished 6th for the year. The top six teams of the year are recognized at the year in championship and presented with plaques. In 2006 they finished 4th for the year.
2007 will find Conley and Kelly as the Tournament Directors for the C.A.S.T. Metro Region. Its going to be a great year.
